Climate on the isle of Oléron
Oléron is the most southerly island of the French Atlantic. It's not surprising that its climate enjoys year-round light and mild temperatures, regulated by the Atlantic Ocean.
Here, the ocean is never far away and its invigorating influence will encourage you to go on great walks or bike rides, to discover the varied flora, among southern plants and ocean flowers.
With record sunshine, temperatures that are mild in winter and warm in summer and favourable rainfall, the Ile d'Oléron has a climate comparable to that of the Mediterranean, but without excessive heat and dryness.
The climate, even at the height of summer, will allow you to take part in intensive sport or enjoy an indulgent break to discover the local seafood without dripping with sweat or nodding off.
